Official Home Run Derby Thread – Who's Your Pick?
Posted by: Casey on July 13, 2009.
American League Participants
Carlos Pena, Tampa Bay Rays — 24 home runs (career high is 46 home runs)
Nelson Cruz, Texas Rangers — 22 home runs (this is a new career high)
Brandon Inge, Detroit Tigers — 21 home runs (career high is 27 home runs)
Joe Mauer, Minnesota Twins — 15 home runs (this is a new career high)
National League Participants
Albert Pujols, St. Louis Cardinals — 32 home runs (career high is 49 home runs)
Adrian Gonzalez, San Diego Padres — 24 home runs (career high is 36 home runs)
Prince Fielder, Milwaukee Brewers — 22 home runs (career high is 50 home runs)
Ryan Howard, Philadelphia Phillies — 22 home runs (career high is 58 home runs)
My pick to win it is Prince Fielder. The only AL participant with a chance is Carlos Pena in my opinion. I just hope Pujols doesn’t win it, for those of us who are friends of Cardinals fans, not allowing them to bring up a new topic of domination is a plus.
Jacobs would dominate this.
Over/under Mauer hitting 5 home runs in the first round?
Who’s your pick?
