You know, maybe Miguel Olivo is a pretty good catcher. He regularly catches for Greinke, and with Buck on the DL, he’s caught a much-improving Gil Meche. Now, I’m not one for supperstitions, and I don’t buy the “I moved 6 inches towards first base” line from Meche when he mentioned his change. I do think Olivo does a very good job of handling our pitching staff, I’m extremely impressed with him. Not only does he do a good job behind the dish managing the game, he also occassionaly throws out some runners, something Buck has struggled with. Oh and by the way, after an awful start to the season hitting the ball, Olivo is now a .250 hitter with 9 home runs and 25 RBI.

Yet again, we must take note that this is the national league we are playing, and interleague play seems to have hit at the perfect time. With the team struggling through the last road trip, we’ve completely torn up the National League in the last 4 games. The best is yet to come, Greinke gets his first start against NL opponents today. And don’t look now, but the Royals are only 5.5 games behind first in the wide-open central. It still doesn’t appear that any team wants to win the division, so maybe we can ride this interleague stretch and get even closer before the all-star-break.

By the way… Kyle Farnsworth had stitches on his non-throwing hand for breaking up a right between two pit bulls… The f? Anybody have some crazy ideas on how that happened?
